Risk Assessment and Risk Analysis

The identification and evaluation of  the hazardous phenomon is the starting point for a structured approach of occupational illness and injury prevention.

For any enterprise, any implementation of an idea, for anyone undertaking new initiative or pursuing ongoing commitments, risk zero does not exist.  When performing risk analysis under occupational health and safety, the assessment of potential hazards should be an integral part of a rigorous health and safety management plan.

Target Audience

HS coordinators, supervisors, committee members of the SMS (Security Management System) or any personnel involved with health and safety.


Any serious risk analysis should start with an adequate knowledge of the workplace risks and/or dangerous phenomenon. But how to identify the dangers associated with  the different work stations?

This training aims to provide all the necessary tools to evaluate the risks associated with the workers operations.

Course content

Among others, the mechanical, chemical, electrical, and ergonomical hazards are being reviewed.
The following are addressed :

  • Definition of risk;
  • The nature of the danger and it’s effect on health and safety;
  • The main elements of the applicable occupational health and safety legislation;
  • Presentation of a few identification and evaluation tools available;
  • Presentation of the appropriate preventive measures;
  • MEDA : Maintenance Error Decision Aid.

Educational approach

The theoretical presentation is combined with various learning activities : exercices, case studies, simulations and discussions.

  • MEDA (Boeing).
