The intent of logistics management, also called supply chain, within the organization is to handle all material (or commodities) flow management. To do this, it directly manages the activities involved or ensures close cooperation with the stakeholders or third parties concerned, in order to control the flow of inventory of finished, in progress and semi-finished products, relevant raw materials, etc.
It also manages resources (internal human resources or outside providers: suppliers, storage, warehousing, distribution, transportation, freight, etc.), the equipment necessary to perform logistics services (warehousing, tools, machines, material handling, clean vehicles, etc.), supplies (packaging, consumables, energy and fuel sources, etc.), services (planning, distribution, packaging, handling, transport, export, customs, billing, litigation, etc.) and information and management control systems.
