Description

Training course teaches how to use lockout procedures to drain equipment. This course discusses techniques to prevent an unexpected start-up or discharge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal or chemical energy that could cause injury while working in a machine risk zone.

Target audience

Any person who must perform work on locked-out (zero energy state) equipment and/or in a confined space.

Important note !   Please note that the employee must have completed the initial training within the last three years in order to complete this refresher training course. Additionally, in order for the refresher training to be entered into Cognibox, the initial training must have been previously entered.

 Objectives

  • Prevention awareness…Why?
  • Understanding the various risks associated with machinery and the technical environment;
  • Understanding other risks (eyes, respiratory tract, toxic products, falls, confined spaces).

  • Legal framework and definitions;
  • Roles and responsibilities (owner, worker, etc.);
  • Energy types;
  • Eliminating and controlling risk;
  • Lockout equipment;
  • Managing systems, files, and various forms.

Evaluation

An exam is used to assess knowledge.

Duration

2 hours.
