Description

The safe use of a boom lift requires a rigorous application of the rules. This training course gives workers all the techniques and knowledge required to drive, access, and operate boom lifts by demonstrating the operational limits of these devices and the best maintenance practices for them.

Note that those participants registered for the course given at Fermont will have to move in the afternoon to the Fermont Training Centre, at 13 rue du Camp, for the practical part of the course.

Target audience

Workers who must operate a boom lift or scissor lift as part of their jobs.

Objectives

Theory and practical training on the safe use of boom and scissor lifts:

  • Description and operation;
  • Operating the boom and platform lift;
  • Inspection and check;
  • Signaling and the work environment;
  • Operator responsibility;
  • Safety.

Course content

At the end of the course, participants will be able to operate and safely use a boom lift or scissor lift by:

  • Using the equipment properly;
  • Applying the work procedures and regulatory requirements applicable to these devices;
  • Knowing the risks associated with the operation of these machines.

Educational approach

Theoretical and practical training required for all participants.

Important! Boots, hardhat, goggles, safety harness with straps and safety vest are obligatory for each participant.

Evaluation

A formal exam is used to assess knowledge.

Duration

8 hours.

The duration of the training can differ according to your needs when it is given in private enterprise.
